Students explored the Forest of Bowland on their three day expeditions to complete their practice Silver and final Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award Camping Expeditions. Students walked routes to camp on both days and developed the essential skills of leadership, navigation and problem solving and the challenge to be self-sufficient in the great outdoors.
Year 9's passed the 20 DofE assessment conditions required to complete their Bronze Expedition section. Year 12 Silver Students refined their campcraft and leadership skills on their longer practice expedition and are looking forward to planning their own qualifying expedition based in Llangollen in June.
