Some geneticists focus on diagnosing genetic conditions, helping doctors, identify the causes of illnesses like cystic fibrosis or certain cancers. Other work in agriculture, improving crops or breeding healthier animals. Their work involves analysing DNA using advanced technology and solving complex problems. Becoming a geneticist typically requireds a degree in genetics or a related science, supported by A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths. Entry level salaries for geneticists range from £25k-£30k per year, increasing up to £60k and beyond with experience.
