The aim was to show them the ways ancient culture informs, challenges, and inspires and how it may enhance their skills of reading, interpretation, and communication. During the first session, students discussed Latin as a dead language that never truly died out. They observed that learning Latin helps students master the English language because almost half of all English vocabulary words are derived from Latin.
The following two sessions focused on Ancient Greek culture. Students began by studying the most important Greek gods and deciphering their names written in the Ancient Greek script. Following this the scholars took part in two dance sessions.
