They donned Bee keeper suits to open up the hives and look inside, then they extracted honey from frames of honeycomb. They got to take the honey thet they made home! Axel (Ignite) also set up an experiment to see if bees can be dissuaded from eating sugar water by adding the harmless chemical quinine. This is part of a project to try and reduce the impact of harmful pesticides on bees. This was a very unusual and interesting experience, and celebrates a year of collaboration with the Urban Beekeepers Association. We're ooking forward to more bee adventures next year!
