In July 2026, a group of Year 12 students will travel to Geneva, Switzerland, for a four-day educational visit exploring the very heart of global science and innovation.
Led by Mr. Stopford and Ms. Blunt from our Science Department, the trip will include a guided tour of CERN, the world-famous home of the Large Hadron Collider, as well as visits to the United Nations Palais des Nations, Geneva’s Natural History and Science Museums, and other key cultural and scientific landmarks.
This unforgettable experience will give students a first-hand look at international collaboration in STEM, connecting their classroom learning to real-world discoveries in physics, computing, mathematics, and beyond.
Students will also have the chance to take part in fundraising activities, including a fun “Cycle to CERN” challenge, to help make this trip accessible for everyone.
This visit reflects Gateacre School’s commitment to providing inspiring, world-class opportunities for our learners and further establishes us as a leading school for STEM education.
Stay tuned for updates as our students prepare for their journey to Geneva and follow along as we continue to show that Science at Gateacre truly knows no bounds!
