Hands-On Science in Action
Based at the Speke facility, Chloe was fully immersed in the world of cuttingedge science and manufacturing. Over the course of her placement, her activities included:

• A VIP Site Tour: Gaining a behindthe-scenes look at AstraZeneca’s state-of-the-art facilities in Speke.
• Lab Manufacturing: Getting hands-on experience with real-world laboratory processes.
• Technical Skill Development: Learning how to operate specialised scientific equipment and mastering the precise art of aseptic (sterile) laboratory techniques.
• Industry Insights: Understanding how "Continuous Improvement" strategies are vital to keeping a major pharmaceutical company running safely and efficiently.

through many practical activities. For example, I was taught how to use specialised equipment, how to work aseptically, and the importance of Continuous Improvement for a company.
