They often work in high street agencies or call centres, using computer systems to find the best deals.

Travel agent jobs typically require four or five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including Maths and English.  Some may prefer candidates with a BTEC in travel and tourism.  

A travel agent's annual salary varies based on experience, location, and the employer.  On average, travel agents earn around £23,266 per year.  

Entry-level positions may start at approximately £18k annually, while experienced agents can earn up to £30k or more.  

Some positions offer bonuses or commissions based on sales performance, which can increase overall earnings.
