Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), also named "The Silent Pandemic," is a huge global problem, but not many young people have heard of the issue or aren't aware of the scale of the problem.
The aim of the day was to engage young people in AMR and raise awareness around using antibiotics correctly and minimising the spread of resistant organisms. Year 10 students were split into pathway-specific groups of Data Analysts, Engineers, Game Designers, Writers, Illustrators, and Primary Outreach. Students then developed their ideas and pathway-specific challenges and presented their work.
Huge thanks to our partners, Mast Group and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) for their inspiring keynote speeches. So proud to see our students leading on such a vital global issue!
We'd also like to thank Dr Dyer for organising the day and his continued dedication to providing opportunities for students through project based learning and employer-led teaching.
