We had a successful day celebrating the importance and power of books on Thursday.

Staff members dressed up imaginatively as their favourite book character, with the English department leading the way dressing up as characters from Alice in Wonderland. A Mad Hatter's Tea Party cake sale at break and lunch raised £81.30 for World Book Day. Students had the opportunity to take part in a 'reading slam' at break and lunch where they passionately shared extracts from their favourite books. A really enjoyable and powerful day that highlighted the embedded reading culture and sheer love of books that we have at NLA.
