The yearly salary in the UK starts at around £25k-£28k.  With more experience or training this can rise to £35k+ a year.

You typically need GCSEs, including English, Maths and Science.  After that you can apply for a level 3 apprenticeship in prosthetic and orthotic technical support, which includes both on the job training and studying at college.  Alternatively, you may study mechanical engineering or manufacturing then find work and train on the job.
