We are thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent investment in a state-of-the-art cricket pitch at Gateacre Secondary School!

Cricket Success: A new pitch and community event!

This initiative has not only enhanced our sports facilities but has also provided our students with invaluable opportunities to develop their skills and confidence in cricket.

Recently, we proudly hosted a primary school cricket event that kicked off with a comprehensive skills workshop, followed by an exciting and competitive tournament. Schools from the local area, including Barlow’s, Kingsley, Lister, St. Cecelia’s, and Windsor, participated in this memorable day. The atmosphere was electric, with students showcasing their abilities while enjoying the spirit of friendly competition.

Our Year 9 and Year 10 sports leaders truly shone, taking on the role of mentors and role models throughout the event. Their outstanding leadership and support did not go unnoticed, as one parent remarked: "Your pupils are supportive, kind, and strong leaders." This feedback powerfully underscores the positive impact our students have on their peers and reflects the ethos we strive tocultivate at Gateacre.

The quality of our new 2G FLICX pitch was a significant highlight, providing an ideal playing surface. Feedback from participating schools was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing eagerness to return for future cricket events. This investment not only enhances our sports curriculum but also strengthens our community ties and fosters a love for the game among our students.

We are immensely proud of our pupils and their achievements, and we eagerly anticipate how this new facility will continue to benefit our school community for years to come. We strive to provide our students with the best opportunities in sports and beyond.
