Harry told students how his grandmother was imprisoned in Theresienstadt concentration camp but miraculously survived.
Harry’s own story involves an extraordinary act of kindness. His family were able to come to England to live and escape the Nazis because, a few years earlier, his father had helped a lost British couple visiting Austria. They had kept in touch, and the British family sponsored Harry’s family to escape to England.
A group of students were then able to have lunch with Harry and his wife, Mary, and share more stories about their lives.
If students would like to borrow a copy of Harry's daughter's books to read, please speak to Ms Bonnesen.
