Flamenco Dancers visit

Last week our Year 10 Spanish GCSE students enjoyed a spectacular Flamenco workshop. Victoria and Gina, our Spanish volunteers from Andalucia, performed a sample of the variety of flamenco styles.

Students learned about the origin and roots of flamenco, the body language of "bailaores" and how important is to appreciate the culture and use this knowledge in our GCSE assessments.  Miss Mallo highlighted, "It was great to see our year 10, within the first few weeks at the UTC, trying their first steps dancing Sevillanas, building up their confidence and having such a great time"
