Coaches often work with individuals or full teams, helping with everything from communication to mental preparation.  They need to know the games inside and out and stay up to date with the latest tactics and updates.

To become an e-sports coatch, it is important to have a deep understanding of the game or games you want to coach.  Whilst there is no set path, many start out as competitive players themselves.  Good communicaiton and leadership skills are essential.  Some coaches study subjects like sports psychology or taking coaching courses to build their knowledge.

Yearly salary can very depending on the experience of the team, and whether they work freelance or for a big organisation.  A beginner might earn around £20k a year whilst more experienced coaches at a professional level could make £30k to £50k.  In top level international competition some coaches may earn even more.
